About

In the fall of 1946, Rhode Island Credit Union was founded when a small group of state employees decided to use their personal resources to come to the aid of a fellow employee who needed money for his wife's hospital bills. This all began out of a desk drawer in a small room in the State House.

The Credit Union's Main Office in Providence was originally built in 1966 and then expanded ten years later. We currently serve our members in our five branches located in Providence, Cranston, Bristol, Pascoag and Kingston at the University of Rhode Island.
